At St Teresa’s College, the wellbeing of our students is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that young people thrive when they feel safe, connected, supported, and valued, and we are committed to creating an environment where every student can grow academically, socially, emotionally, culturally, and spiritually.

Our Wellbeing Centre provides a welcoming, confidential, and supportive space where students can access professional guidance and support when needed. Staffed by qualified and experienced counsellors, the Centre offers a culturally responsive approach that recognises and celebrates the unique experiences, strengths, and identities of First Nations young men.

Our counselling team works closely with students to build resilience, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and develop practical strategies for managing life's challenges. Whether students are navigating personal concerns, academic pressures, relationships, homesickness, boarding life, or questions around identity and belonging, they are supported with understanding, respect, and care.

Through individual counselling sessions, mentoring, group programs, and wellbeing initiatives, students are encouraged to develop confidence, self-awareness, positive relationships, and healthy coping skills. Our focus is on empowering young men to recognise their strengths, make positive choices, and build the skills needed to succeed both at school and beyond.

Wellbeing at St Teresa’s College is a shared responsibility. Our counselling team works collaboratively with boarding staff, teachers, College leadership, and the Health Centre to ensure students receive holistic and coordinated support. This team-based approach helps foster a strong culture of care and ensures that students are supported across all aspects of College life.

Students can access wellbeing support through referrals from staff, boarding personnel, family members, or by self-referring whenever they feel the need to talk.

At St Teresa’s College, we believe that strong wellbeing provides the foundation for success. By nurturing resilience, cultural pride, connection, and personal growth, we empower our students to become confident young men who are equipped to thrive in their education, their communities, and their future pathways.
