The College places a strong emphasis on students being presentable, well-groomed, and respectful of College expectations. All students are expected to adhere to the College’s dress codes and grooming policies, ensuring they represent themselves and the College with pride.

Grooming Standards
  • Students must maintain clean-cut hair and be clean-shaven, except where cultural practices prevent shaving (e.g., First Nations Shaving Ceremonies). Families are asked to provide notice in these cases so the College can provide appropriate support.
  • Hairstyles such as dreadlocks, rat tails, or long hair are not permitted unless cultural protocols are advised and supported by the College.
Dress Code Expectations
  • Closed-in shoes must be worn in the dining room and on excursions, including trips to Townsville.
  • Clothing must be appropriate and respectful; shirts with profanities, offensive imagery, or unacceptable slogans are not permitted.
  • Singlets are not permitted in the dining hall.
  • Jewellery is limited to a simple cross or chain only.

These standards help maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment at St Teresa’s, while also supporting students’ personal pride, confidence, and preparation for life beyond school.
