Since commencing as Principal in 2025, I have come to deeply appreciate what makes St Teresa’s College such a special place. Nestled in the canefields of North Queensland on Warragamy country, our College is more than beautiful surroundings and proud traditions -  it is a faith-filled community where young men are known, supported and challenged to grow.

As an Edmund Rice school, our mission is grounded in faith, compassion and justice. We are committed to educating and empowering young men from rural, remote and Indigenous communities across the country, to realise their potential and make a positive contribution to society.

At St Teresa’s, learning sits at the heart of College life. Academic commitment is our priority, and the opportunities available in sport, agriculture, culture, service and leadership enrich the journey, building character, responsibility and resilience.

I often speak with our students about their commitment to education — recognising the sacrifices made by their families, the privilege of opportunity, and the importance of giving back.

My goal is to foster respectful and authentic relationships between staff and students so that every young man is supported to meet  and exceed   expectations. As Pope Francis reminds us:

“Teach young people, help young people to grow in culture and in encounter… this is how we grow.”

We are proud of what we offer at St Teresa’s, but we are never complacent. We continually strive to improve, valuing the voices of our students and families as partners in that journey.

Above all, I want every young man at St Teresa’s to feel known, supported and inspired - confident in who he is and prepared for the future.

I look forward to welcoming you to our College community.
